• Susan Druding's two-part introduction at About.com, "Foundation Paper Piecing, Part One," and "Foundation Paper Piecing, Part Two" is an excellent starting place for overview and background on this popular technique. Susan's article contain basic and advanced information on the technique, with lots of links to ideas, people, and patterns. Excellent!

• Quilter's Online Resource, by Mary Graham, contains a basic well-illustrated set of instructions for paper foundation piecing. Patterns are also available to paid site members.

• The World Wide Quilting Page has a nice, step-by-step lesson in the basic technique. They also offer a copy of the Quiltnet FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) on foundation piecing.

• Debby Kratovil's wonderful Quilter by Design site is also a Planet Patchwork Web Excellence Award winner. It contains many resources for paper-piecing fanatics on her paper-piecing patterns page. Debby also sells 6" patterns from her site at very reasonable rates. Links to her wonderful patterns are included in our patterns list below.

• Zippy Designs Publishing is the home of The Foundation Piecer, a hard copy magazine for paper piecers. Their site contains many resources, including a free pattern library.
