Our Shipping Rates and Options
|
In the United States Schoolhouse Enterprises at Planet Patchwork seeks to give you the most affordable and flexible shipping options possible. We do not believe we should profit from shipping charges, and we want you to have the responsiveness and speed you seek in delivery of your purchases. The tables below detail our shipping charges. We offer U.S. Mail as our primary shipping option for domestic shipments. We have found this is the most affordable and speediest way of shipping most of the items we sell. We offer two types of shipping: SuperSaver and First/Class Priority Mail. SuperSaver shipping, which offers the lowest rates, is available only in the United States and Canada and provides the slowest delivery. All shipments are sent by U.S. Parcel Post or Media Mail, and typically take from 1-3 weeks for delivery. First Class or Priority Mail generally arrive within two to three business days of shipment, though this is not guaranteed. Rates reflect the priority treatment. We attempt to process and ship all orders within 48 hours of receipt (not including weekends or holidays). You will notice that we have a couple of special rates. For instance, purchase of our gift certificates for the store do not incur significant shipping charges, and therefore we have a $0.00 option for those items. All purchases over $88 are also shipped for free (U.S. addresses only) under the SuperSaver Option. If you have a special need for even faster shipping, we will ship next-day or second-day air for the actual cost of shipping. Simply e-mail us or make a comment on your order form and we'll get back to you.
International Shipping Rates For our international customers: We welcome your business and hope you will use our store often, particularly for items hard to find outside the U.S. For security and speed of delivery, we ship by air only. The shipping rates built into our online store software are based on the total cost of the order. For U.S. shipments, this works pretty well, but with the elevated rates of shipping, particularly airmail, to other nations in Europe, Asia, and the Pacific, it is difficult to estimate accurately. Weight plays the most important role in the cost of international shipping. We do not wish to profit from our shipping, but in order to cover our costs we have set our international shipping rates at what we estimate is the high end of the spectrum. Regardless of what your order may show as your shipping cost, we will charge you only our cost of shipping (including postage, packing materials, and handling). We are committed to work as hard as we can to keep your shipping costs down!
